Planning for your marriage ceremony involves numerous details.
Please contact the Rectory Office (212-734-4613) or leave a message on the website with your email address, and you will be sent a copy of the document "Guidelines for Marriage Celebrations." These guidelines are designed to facilitate methodical and efficient planning by the bride and groom for the sacramental, musical and practical areas of the marriage ceremony. These guidelines are the basis of planning with the clergy and pastoral musician.
Scheduling
Couples should contact the parish at least six months (one year is ideal) in advance of any anticipated date for the wedding. No church wedding date can be set until after the first discussion with the Pastor or Parochial Vicar. To avoid conflicts with the regularly scheduled church services, marriage celebrations cannot be scheduled after 3:30 PM on Saturdays or only between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM on Sundays. It is possible to schedule a marriage celebration on a Friday evening or other weekday. A consultation with the Director of Music should be made soon after the initial meeting with one of the parish priests and at least two months prior to the wedding date. All music and staffing is approved by the Director of Music.
