BAKER'S BITS - 5th Sunday of Easter - May 2, 2021

1. Blessed Easter to all Greek Catholics who are celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord this Sunday.

2. Mother’s Day is next week (May 9). As always, I encourage you to submit the names of your mothers, both living and deceased, so that they may be remembered at the Holy Masses on Mother’s Day as well as other Masses celebrated for them throughout the month of May. You may submit their names by e-mail to pastor@eastrivercatholics.org or mailing them to our church address. If you would like to make an offering, you may do that by using Faith Direct or by mailing your check to the parish office.   

3. Congratulations to the children who were confirmed at Mass on April 25th. These children were confirmed during the Slovak Mass at 10:15: Julianna Demcakova, Sophia Imrichova, Julia Bilik, Miriam Turkynak, Maggie Vira, Michael Lachyta and Jacob Lachyta.  We will have the rite of confirmation at the 10:15am Mass on the upcoming Sundays:  May 16 and 23. Please pray for all 39 of those who have been or will be confirmed!  May the outpouring of the Holy Spirit enliven their faith and make them strong members of the Church.     

4. If you have not yet made your offering to the Cardinal’s Appeal, it is encouraged that you do so soon. Any questions or concerns about the Appeal may be directed to me at e-mail address pastor@eastrivercatholics.org or to Lisa parishfin@eastrivercatholics.org.

1. Požehnané veľkonočné sviatky všetkým gréckokatolíkom, ktorí túto nedeľu oslavujú zmŕtvychvstanie nášho Pána.

2. O  týždeň (9. mája) je Deň matiek. Tak ako každý rok, prosím, napíšte nám mená svojich matiek, žijúcich aj zosnulých, aby sme ich zaradili do zoznamu matiek, za ktoré budú odslúžené sväté omše na Deň matiek, ako aj ďalšie omše, ktoré budeme za ne sláviť počas mája. Ich mená môžete zaslať e-mailom na adresu pastor@eastrivercatholics.org alebo poštou na adresu kostola. Ak by ste chceli obetovať milodar na tento účel, môžete tak urobiť použitím služby Faith Direct alebo zaslaním šeku poštou na farský úrad.

3. Blahoželáme deťom, ktoré prijali sviatosť birmovania 25. apríla. Počas slovenskej sv. omše  o 10:15 boli birmované tieto deti: Julianna Demcakova, Sophia Imrichova, Julia Bilik, Miriam Turkynak, Maggie Vira, Michael Lachyta a Jacob Lachyta. Sviatosť birmovania budeme vysluhovať počas  sv. omší o 10:15 v tieto nedele: 16. a 23. mája. Modlite sa prosím za 39 birmovancov, za tých ktorí už prijali túto sviatosť a za tých, ktorí túto sviatosť prijmu v najbližších týždňoch! Nech v nich Duch Svätý oživí ich vieru a urobí z nich horlivých členov Cirkvi.
