BAKER’S BITS

1. Congratulations to the newly baptized William Jurcak, who was baptized in St. John Nepomucene Church on November 3rd and Francesca Cardinal who was baptized at St. Frances Cabrini this past Sunday.

2. Thank you to all of the volunteers who set up a table and greeted many of our Slovak marathon brothers and sisters who participated in the NYC Marathon on November 4.

3. I thank Fr. Donald Baker, dean of the East Side churches, for his pastoral visit to St. Frances Cabrini last Sunday. I am so grateful that my cousin, Fr. Donald, the cardinal's representative on the East Side could see what a wonderful community we have on Roosevelt Island.

4. Coffee Hour resumes this weekend after the 8:30am and 10:30am Mass at St. Frances Cabrini church hall.

5. This weekend, the Msgr. Stephen Krasula District 16 will hold its annual meeting at the St. John rectory immediately following the Slovak Mass. And next Sunday, November 18th we welcome the St. Stephen Society (Branch 716 FCSU) for their annual meeting at St. John Nepomucene downstairs hall following the Slovak Mass at 10:15am. Please keep these organizations in your prayers.

1. Blahoželám novopokrstenému Williamovi Jurcakovi, ktorý bol pokrstený v Kostole Sv. Jána v sobotu 3. novembra a Francesce Cardinal, ktorá bola pokrstená v Kostole Sv.Františky minulú nedeľu.

2. Ďakujem všetkým dobrovoľníkom, ktorí pripravili stôl a povzbudzovali našich slovenských bratov a sestry, ktorí sa 4. novembra zúčastnili Newyorského maratónu.

3. Ďakujem Fr. Donaldovi Bakerovi, dekanovi pre Eastern Region, za pastoračnú návštevu v Kostole sv. Františky Cabrini minulú nedeľu. Som veľmi vďačný, že môj bratranec, Fr. Donald, zástupca kardinála pre Eastern Region, sa mohol na vlastné oči presvedčiť, akú úžasnú komunitu máme na Roosevelt Island.

4. Dnešnú nedeľu budeme mať posedenie pri káve po sv. omši o 8:30am a 10:30am v Kostole Sv. Františky Cabrini.

5. Okres Msgr. Štefana Krasuľu č. 16 bude mať svoju výročnú schôdzu dnes, hneď po slovenskej sv. omši na fare kotola. Na budúcu nedeľu bude mať Spolok Sv. Štefana, č. 716 svoju výročnú schôdzu po slovenskej sv. omši v dolnej hale kostola. Modlite sa, prosím, za tieto organizácie.
