BAKER'S BITS - 10.20.19 - East River Catholics

1. Congratulations and many blessed years to Luca Chan Morales who was baptized inSt. John Nepomucene Church October 17th and to Xavier Nicholas Klemen and Avi Alonso Abano who are being baptized in St. John Nepomucene today.

2. October is a month dedicated to the Virgin Mary, we should pray the rosary with deep devotion, it helps us clear our minds of distractions and negative thoughts, it improves positive thinking and helps us have a better outlook on
life.

3.Today is World Mission Sunday, we are called to be part of the Church’s missionary efforts, supporting mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who provide loving service to those most in need.

4. Upcoming events in our parish: Austin Philemon, organ, Dan Qiao, violin & Carolyn Regula, cello October 26; Children’s Halloween Party October 27; Capital Symphony Orchestra & Tania Stavreva, piano with Vladimir Gorbik, conductor October 30; Marina Omelchenko, organ November 22; Queens College Vocal Ensemble November 23; St. Nicholas party December 1 SJN and December 8 SFC.

1. Gratulujem a prajem veľa požehnaných rokov Lucovi Chan Morales, ktorý bol pokrstený v Kostole sv. Jána Nepomuckého 17. októbra a Xavierovi Nicholas Klemen a Avimu Alonso Abano, ktorí budú pokrstení v Kostole sv. Jána Nepomuckého dnes.

2. Október sa považuje za mariánsky mesiac, mali by sme sa modliť ruženec s hlbokou vierou, pomôže nám zbaviť sa rôznych rozptýlení a negatívnych myšlienok, pomôže nám pozitívne rozmýšľať a mať lepší pohľad na život.

3. Dnešná nedeľa je na celom svete slávená ako Misijná nedeľa, kedy nás Cirkev pozýva, aby sme sa stali súčasťou misijných snáh Cirkvi, podporovali misijných kňazov, rehoľné sestry a rehoľných bratov, aj laikov katechétov, ktorí slúžia tým, čo to najviac potrebujú.
